Red River Mutual Trail Opens to Churchill Drive

The Red River Mutual Trail adds a the second leg as it opens from Queen Elizabeth Way to Churchill Park on the Red River, making it a total of three kilometres on the Red River.

As weather permits, the Red River Mutual Trail will continue to extend down the Red River in hopes of reaching St. Vital Bridge. In addition to the trail, a second skating rink was also completed this weekend in The Forks Historic Port. All rinks and trails are groomed daily and conditions can always be found at theforks.com/skate or by following @RRMTrail on Twitter.

Along with the trail extending, local artist Chris Jane has brought the addition of an art gallery on ice. This is the second year for the gallery with this year’s work being showcased under the Queen Elizabeth Way. Skaters are able to glide by the work from budding local artists.
