Last Sunday, June 16th, around 10,000 people laced up for the 41st annual Manitoba Marathon.
Participants from in and out of Manitoba raced through the course they have signed up for in advance – Full marathon, Super Run, Half Marathon, 10km and Relay. Some ran to beat a time and prove their capacity , some ran for a cause while many joined for experience and to spend some quality time with family especially that it was also Father’s Day.
Many also noticed and were thankful for a favourable weather, making it easier and more comfortable to run or walk through the course. And more than the medal and treats waiting at the finish line, it was that magical feeling of crossing the finish line that made each step well worth joining this marathon.
