‘Lola Basyang’ series among finalists in int’l TV awards

“LolaBasyang.com,” is among finalists at the prestigious Prix Jeunesse International 2016 to be held from May 20-25 in Munich, Germany.

According to director Perci Intalan, the TV5 fantasy series qualified for the episode “Ang Plautin Ni Periking” starring Valeen Montenegro and Vin Abrenica.

The series is led by Lola Basyang, an iconic character in Philippine literature. The modern Lola B (played by Boots Anson-Roa-Rodrigo), is now a blogger who shares human-value stories to her grandchildren here and abroad via webcam.

The Prix Jeunesse International festival is considered the “Oscars Of Children’s Television” that aims to promote quality television for young audiences worldwide. For this year, a record submission of nearly 400 entries from 60 countries will compete in six categories.
