Full day of family friendly activities planned for Louis Riel Day at The Forks
The Forks, Winnipeg, Treaty 1 Territory – Louis Riel Day at The Forks is set to be packed with dance parties, arts and crafts, kid’s menu food options, and a ton of winter activities and attractions.
Families, friends, and people of all ages will be able to enjoy dance battles outside by the Canopy Rink, skating lessons on the Winnipeg 150 Winter Park, Warming Hut tours along the Nestaweya River Trail presented by The Winnipeg Foundation, arts and crafts in the EQ3 Lounge, a dance party in Room 201, and food specials at many of The Forks Market food vendors, plus a performance by Al Simmons at his Crazy Caboose Warming Hut.
The fun will go from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will be taking place both indoors and outside at The Forks. A full rundown of the events and the schedule for the day can be found on The Forks website.
The Forks Market will be open standard hours throughout the long weekend (Saturday: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m., Sunday and Monday: 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.), with Learn To Winter activities running on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Plus, the Winnipeg 150 Winter Park and Nestaweya River Trail presented by The Winnipeg Foundation are both back open for skating, stay up-to-date on all skating conditions at TheForks.com/Skate.
