Celebrate Canada Day at Tyndall Park on July 1st

Cindy Lamoureux – Canstar – June 11, 2019

One amazing thing about Canada is how diverse our country is. People will celebrate Canada Day in different ways throughout the country. Often times celebrations may include pancake breakfasts (with classic maple syrup), parades, carnivals, fireworks, concerts and citizenship ceremonies.

For Canada day this year, my father and I are co-hosting our big annual celebration at Tyndall Park School on July 1st and we hope that you can join us.

As we have done in previous years, we will have all sorts of activities running throughout the day. This will include everything from face painting, water sports, tug-o-war, basketball tournaments, soccer games, Zumba, and lots of entertainment in the form of dancing and singing.

Leading up into the evening, we will be playing Captain Canuck, a comic book movie, for all to enjoy. There will be lots of tasty food for purchase and we will end the evening with a fun fireworks show after the sun sets.

This will be a great community building event. I strongly believe that diversity is our strength and that Canada Day celebrations are a great way to truly get to know the people and cultures that call the north end home.

Whether it’s through dance, food, or just kicking back to watch fireworks light up the night sky—we all should take a moment to appreciate this wonderful country we call home.

For some, this may be their first Canada Day celebration – which makes this year’s celebration even more special. For newcomers who now call Manitoba and Canada home, their first Canada Day should be a special one.

If you have any questions, would like to know more about the event details, or are interested in volunteering, please reach out to me at cindy@gocindy.ca.

Have a wonderful start to your summer and I hope to see you on July 1st!
