Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert took the top honors as the first winners of the country’s biggest and most intensive talent search, “Artista Academy.”
Declared as Best Actor and Best Actress during the “Artista Academy Awards Night” on Saturday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Vin and Sophie each took home P10 million pesos worth of cash and prizes, including P1 million in cash, a condominium unit at Presidio, a Toyota Innova, and a guaranteed P5 million management contract from TV5.
Aside from their titles, Vin and Sophie will also appear in print and TV ads as the newest ambassadors of the toothpaste brand Close Up.
They will also star in their own teen drama series for the Kapatid network called “Forever Barkada” along with the rest of the “AA” scholars.
The 21-year old Vin, brother of actor Aljur Abrenica, is a culinary arts graduate. The young Pampanga native is also a talented musician who sings and plays the guitar very well.
Sophie is also 21 and comes from the famous Cojuangco family of Tarlac. She slowly but surely worked her way to the top and by week 3 has already emerged as one of the top contenders.
The winners were determined based on 40% accumulated average for the past 3 weeks, 40% grades for the night’s performance and 20% text votes.
