‘Rekorder’ continues to make waves

Mikhail Red’s mystery-psychological drama, “Rekorder,” continued to get international recognition as it garnered numerous awards in various countries.

For his full-length feature debut film, Red won the Excellent Asia-Pacific Young Director Award at the recent Gwangju International Film Festival in South Korea. Earlier this year, the film won the Best Music Award at the Annonay International Film Festival (Festival international du premier film d’Annonay) held in France. It tied for the Special Jury Prize at the same festival with John Denizot’s “La Belle Vie.”

Lead actor Ronnie Quizon was also given the El Rey Award for Excellence in Acting at the Barcelona International Film Festival for his role in the film,
“Rekorder” is an entry to the New Breed section of last year’s Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival. It tells the story of a former film cameraman who later became a movie pirate.
