W.ill there be a angler champion in the crowd this coming fishing season, considering the excited and enthusiastic attendees in the 1st fishing workshop “Tara Na At Mamingwit Tayo” (Let’s Fish) organized by the Quezon Province Association of Manitoba held last Saturday, April 11 at the Filipino Senior Group Hall at Euclid.
Led by a professional angler and a well-experienced fishing enthusiasts, Don Lamont and Frank Soja of Gear-Up:Tackling the Future, the more than fifty would-be anglers were given all the possible instructions on the ways and means to catch a fish and promote a sustainable fishing industry for Manitoba.
An interactive slideshow and brochures and other gadgets are presented to the delight of the audience. A Q&A session was held and it focused on the many great instructions on how to fish; and largely, reminders and review of the rules and regulations on fishing in Manitoba.
“I do hope that everyone will participate in our forthcoming “Family Fish-nic Day” (combination of fish fun and picnic), and with these prizes and give-aways, and all the information you want to know about fishing will help you to appreciate this recreational activity in Manitoba and I do you hope that you will be involved in our coming fishing events and your presence will be appreciated,”said by Maggie Chan-Urbano, president of QPAM.
Prizes and gifts were given away to the delight of the children.
