With all her children and their spouses, her grandchildren, relatives and friends from Winnipeg, the United States and the Philippines, Nanay Naty Fernando, as everybody calls her, celebrated her 90th birthday recently at the Marlborough Hotel.
It was more than a family affair as Nanay Naty enjoyed her well-wishes from loved ones, cousins and relatives and countless friends. Songs and dances were dedicated to her as she watched the dance performance and singers like Winnipeg’s pride, Paul Ong, Adrianne Odulio, great grand daughter; and Ella Calderon, grand daughter. Trivia contest was held and winners got special prizes.
The 90th celebration was a milestone for Nanay Naty, an affair for her to remember for a long time. The guests from the USA and the Philippines include Eng. Rene & Beth Mallari, Dario and Cory Bernardo, Edward Carino, Rocky Fernando, Nonie Hernandez, Mimie Geraldez Josh, Estelita Santiago, Emmauel Lopez and Jojie Avendanio.
Nanay Naty’s children include Norberto and Mildred Fernando; Donato and Marie Fernando, Nona and Jose Calderon, Petronilo and Ma Nina Fernando, Marietta and Nelson Balbin and Paulita and Norman Camungol and her niece, Clarita Ortega Nazario.
