I am very pleased to say that the first ever Kickerfish Winnipeg Ice Fishing Show presented by Cabela’s was a huge success. The ice fishing focused consumer trade show took place on November 17 and 18 at Red River Ex Place.
Attendees enjoyed being immersed in all things hardwater angling with over fifty exhibitors at the show. The Hooked Magazine Presenter Stage had packed audiences the entire weekend with expert speakers teaching everything from advanced jigging techniques to Lake Winnipeg tactics to lake trout strategies. Cabela’s had a huge retail store on site with a No Tax promotion. Thank you to everyone from the Fil-Can community who attended the show. Given the positive feedback from this one, I plan to organize an even bigger and better show for next year!
The Filipino Anglers Association of Manitoba participated with a booth at the ice show. Members shared with the public the various activities and benefits there are to joining the group. Speaking of which, our Annual General Meeting/Christmas Party is on December 14, 6:30pm at Glen Lawn Funeral Home 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. New members are always welcome to attend. Guest speakers will be Darrin Bohonis from Clam Outdoors and Jerry Kruczek from Fish Futures. Tons of free prize draws including an Eskimo QuickFish 6 insulated shack. Pizza, chicken, drinks, and presents for the kids. $30/family membership includes a Hooked Magazine subscription, 15% member discount at Pro-Am Tackle, online contest entries, and more.
