The Life of Peg Association of Manitoba (LPAM) Sportsfest opened on November 24th at R.B. Russell School. Under the leadership of Nestor De Quiroz and wife Jackie De Quiroz, the organizers have delivered 5 years of successful sports events engaging men and women from all walks of life. Nestor is a Mortgage Specialist of Coast to Coast Mortgage Group. Jackie is a realtor of Century 21. The De Quiroz’s are co-owners of Gemstone Digital Graphics.
Also, for five straight years, Rodel Olesco of Birchwood Honda has been an avid supporter of the league. “One thing I am sure that I’ve doing right ever since I migrated here in Winnipeg, is being a donor to the LPAM Sportsfest event. And I will continue supporting it in the many years to come. It is worth it. I am helping these people, specially the young ones, who have made the right choice of being active in sports instead of doing drugs and abusing substance.” Rodel is also an active patroller of 204 Neighbourhood Watch which advocates safety in the community.
I had the honour of delivering a speech in front of the crowd of athletic men and women; and tossing the ball for the first game.
