IMF praises the Philippines for being an “exceptionally well-performing country”

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has commended President Bongbong Marcos for his leadership as the country faces “more immune and more complex challenges, ” on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in this Swiss city last Tuesday and discussed issues affecting the world economy.

Georgieva also said that IMF is ready to help its member countries, including the Philippines, in achieving sustainable growth and pushing for economic policies that would benefit more Filipinos
Marcos said that the country is still addressing many challenges and that there is a need to go back to the basics.

The president also stressed the government’s digitalization initiatives which he believes are important in making the bureaucracy more efficient.
