Hundreds of people attended the Tec Voc High School graduation Ceremony held the University of Winnipeg which also honored their student Jaime Adao Jr.
Imelda and Jaime Adao Sr., the parents of the slain Winnipeg teenager were given an honorary high school diploma for their son. His graduating friends ceremoniously held a large portrait of Adao with a mock high school diploma. His close friends expressed grief saying that he should have been at the graduation program celebrating the moment with them.
On Friday, the Adao parents will be given an honorary diploma in memory of their son from Booth University College’s faculty of business and administrative studies at their Sheppard Street bakery where their son worked.
The teen was known as “Jimboy” to friends and family. He was killed in the evening of March 3 while at his West End home with his grandma. The police charged two men in connection with the slaying. Ronald Chubb, 29, faces second-degree murder and attempted murder charges; and Geordie Delmar James, 34, has been charged with manslaughter.
