Strap on your skates, Winnipeg! We have 1 kilometre of on-land skating trails ready to be explored within Arctic Glacier Winter Park at The Forks.
“We’re embracing winter here at The Forks,” said Paul Jordan, Chief Executive Officer, The Forks. “One kilometre of trails within Arctic Glacier Winter Park is open, along with the Canopy Skating Rink and the rink by Festival Park Stage.”
Still to come in Arctic Glacier Winter Park: the toboggan run, an ever expanding snowboard facility professionally designed to thrill, and the Snowman Lounge, sponsored by Great-West Life. Skaters can take a break from the trails in The Port and relax on a couch or chair made entirely of snow.
Skate rentals are now open as well and available at Iceland Skate Rentals located adjacent to the skate changing area. Rates are $3 for children and seniors and only $5 for adults. Skate trainers are also available for $2.
Arctic Glacier Winter Park attractions are free and will be open as they become available from now until March, weather permitting.
