Families who alleged that their children died because of the Dengvaxia vaccine wanted to file reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and torture raps against Dr. Raymundo Lo, former deputy executive director of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) and Dr. Sonia Gonzales, also of PCMC.
The motion was filed with the assistance of the Public Attorney’s Office headed by Persida Rueda-Acosta. Acosta said Lo authorized Gonzales to sign, on his behalf, the purchase request dated January 21, 2016 which ordered P3 billion worth of Dengvaxia vaccines.
But Lo denied that he signed the purchase request, saying that the criminal raps to be filed are a form of intimidation and a move to silence him. He added that his testimony in the House of Representative showed the incompetence and lack of professionalism of Erwin Erfe who performed autopsies without any training. He also debunked the PAO’s forensic team’s conclusion that Dengvaxia vaccine was the cause of death of the victims.
