Air Jordan Jumpman Pumpkin supporting Kidsport Manitoba
As I walked into Kildonan Place for this year’s Carving for a Cause charity caring event, I had no idea what I was going to do. I knew that I wanted it to be sports related because Kidsport Manitoba was my charity of choice again for this year’s competition. It wasn’t until I was walking through the aisles at Dollarama when I saw a mini basketball hoop set when the proverbial light bulb came on! I was originally going to carve the pumpkin like a basketball and after a few Google image searches, I decided I was going to carve the iconic Air Jordan Jumpman design, well, a reasonable carved copy.
The annual Carving for a Cause media charity event is hosted annually by the good folks at Kildonan Place Shopping Centre. Every team gets one hour to carve a pumpkin. While most teams carve pumpkins, others take the competition in another direction by decorating their pumpkins, which is also awesome.
My Air Jordan Jumpman Pumpkin was selected by the judges as the Most Creative Pumpkin Design. I also won the Most Creative Pumpkin Design award last year and I was pretty stoked to have won the award back-to-back, or as they say, REPEAT! I’m not making promises for a three-peat next year.
Congratulations to JD Francis and Jordan Knight from ENERGY 106FM for winning the Facebook Likes voting and won an additional $500 for their charity, North Point Douglas Women’s Centre.
