Leading up to the 2021 Festival, the Filipino Journal and the Kultivation Festival is partnering up to share and celebrate the stories behind Winnipeg’s up-and-coming Filipino Canadians.
Among the list are fashion designers, mural artists, teachers and even local charitable community leaders.
The stories and more importantly, people, behind the 20 Filipinos to Watch series is a special message to our future generations that, you too, can achieve success doing what you love.
Today, Filipino-Canadians are leading the way in food, arts and business in our city, but it’s important to remember a lot had to happen to get us here.
Our parents and ancestors left their homeland and their loved ones 60 years ago to pursue a new life in Winnipeg. This beautiful city welcomed our families – and in return, this city has shaped who we are. The sacrifices made by our parents gifted future generations the ability to pursue our passions and our dreams.
Our 20 Filipinos to Watch in 2020 is proof of it. Check by every issue, as we share 2 profiles from the list of up-and-coming Filipino-Canadians.
