The annual Canad Inn Winter Wonderland lightshow has always been an event to be enjoyed from the comfort of your vehicle. In past years, it was also a time to step out of the car and take photos among the varying light displays throughout Red River Exhibition Park.
Winter Wonderland was originally scheduled to open in early November and due to COVID19 public health orders, the drive-through event was forced to close, or at least postpone their opening. With revised public health orders announced on December 12, 2020, the annual lightshow was allowed to re-open to the public with the restriction that participants had to stay in their vehicles.
Adhering to public health orders, and out of an abundance of caution, the 2020 edition of Canad Inns Winter Wonderland isn’t offering on-site food vendors, sleigh rides or skating at their winter village normally available as the last stop in the 2.5km light show display.
Canad Inns Winter Wonderland is open daily from 6:00pm to 10:00pm until January 2, 2021. To enter Canad Inns Winter Wonderland, you require a vehicle pass which can be purchased in advance at any Winnipeg Canad Inns Destination Centre or at the gate.
