The NHL All-Star game is over and returning from the All-Star celebrations, Winnipeg Jet’s Blake Wheeler and Connor Hellebuyk are ready for February and 10-game homestand at Bell MTS Place.
Goalie Michael Hutchinson opened with a win over the league leading Tampa Bay Lightning. This was Hutchinson’s first NHL start this year after he was called up from the AHL Manitoba Moose and also representing the Manitoba Moose at the AHL All-Star Game.
The Jets have Adam Lowry back from injured reserve, Mark Scheifele is now skating in practice with a non-contact jersey and defenseman, Jacob Trouba is out with a lower body injury for 6-8 weeks.
The Jets 10-game homestand takes up the majority of games in February and will see them play Golden Knights, Coyotes, Blues, Rangers, Capitals, Panthers, Kings and Avalanche twice. It’s going to be a busy month at Bell MTS Place and the next away game isn’t until February 23 in St. Louis.
The Jets remain at the top of the Central Division, and 2nd in the Western Conference behind the Vegas Golden Knights.
