Bravo to Winnipeg’s first ever fashion week. The conceptualizers, WFI also know as the Winnipeg Fashion Incubator wanted to create Winnipeg Fashion Week to open doors of opportunity for a wide range of initiatives for industry professionals to present high quality fashion experiences for a Winnipeg audience.
The Winnipeg Fashion Incubator (WFI) was thrilled to see that the local fashion community came together from April 21 to April 28 to create the maiden voyage of Winnipeg Fashion Week.
“We are very excited to see this happen. We’ve been working on developing our organization and see this initiative as a great opportunity for our members to get a boost in presenting their work to a local and national market. It gives us a chance to reach out to industry members as well” said Lili Lavack, WFI Co-President.
Panache Model Management worked with the WFI to create a true industry style week of the many events under one banner. Panache and WFI wanted to best ensure that the tremendous talent and commitment of all of the people producing and participating in these shows got the exposure and recognition that they deserved.
Winnipeg Fashion Week wants to annually raise awareness of the up and coming industry members as well as pay homage to fashion professionals.
The week included events presented by Panache, Von Wilde, WFI board member, Lennard Taylor, and other local fashion designers.
After attending the runway shows, seeing photos of the gallery style in house show casings, and checking out the fashion parties, I’m personally giving you the scoop on the who, what, when and why. Also check out the fantastic Filipinos that were involved during the first ever Winnipeg Fashion Week.
