It was an awarding day May 20th at Waverley Mitsubishi, a member of the Vickar Automotive Group. It was approximately a month ago that Rino Attardo, President of Waverley Mitsubishi received a phone call from Mitsubishi Canada with the exiting news that they had been awarded the prestigious “Mitsubishi Triple Diamond Cup Champion.” This award is given once a year to the number 1 Mitsubishi dealer in Canada that excels in After Sales Service.
Waverley Mitsubishi is familiar with the award, they have been awarded 2nd position for 3 consecutive years. This is a cumulation of hard work as noted by Brian McGrath, Mitsubishi Manager for After Sales Marketing. The top dealership from each territory across Canada qualifies for a opportunity to win the award. Each District Service Manager from the individual territory, in the case of Waverley Mitsubishi, Robert Jakubec present their reasons to Kenichiro Yamamoto, President of MMSCAN to be the awardee for this honor. Well it apparently did not take long for Mr Yamamoto to select Waverley Mitsubishi and personally congratulate them.
At the ceremony, Rino Attardo honoured his staff, recalling how in October of 2007 at the grand opening, the dealership opened with 16 staff members and today has over 40 employees that contribute to the dealerships growth and most certainly this fantastic award. All 5 year and longer term employee’s received a gift and token of his appreciation for their dedication, loyalty and hard hard work. Rino noted to all in attendance that of the 14 5yr and longer employees, 7 of them started in 2007 and of the seven, 5 are managers at the dealership now.
“I learnt many lessons in my 20+ years in this industry, and although cliché, the genuine care for my staff and knowing there is no I in team, I owe this award to our staff.” Many a lesson learnt by Rino, no doubt from his Business Partner also in attendance, Larry Vickar. Rino Attardo also acknowledged Mitsubishi and their amazing staff and top notch representation from the President down. “Mitsubishi Motors is a great company, with great cars, technology and of course the Best Warranty in Canada, come down and take us for a spin, I know we can make you a happy customer for years to come.”
