Have you been looking for more information about your post-secondary options? From degree programs and entrance requirements to scholarships and career possibilities, there are many things to consider when choosing where to study after high school.
One way to make the process a little easier is to get information directly from the people who know it best: the faculty and staff at The University of Winnipeg.
UWinnipeg’s Open House is happening on Wednesday, February 17, in two sessions. The first session will run from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., and the evening session from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m.
The Information Fair, held in the Duckworth Centre at 400 Spence St., will give you the chance to meet with professors, discover the more than 60 different programs offered at UWinnipeg, and hear about the successes that our graduates have had.
All UWinnipeg faculties and programs will have a booth at the Information Fair — from the Integrated Education program and Applied Computer Science to Environmental Science and Kinesiology.
Not sure what you’re going to study? Our direct entry programs allows you to sample courses in the first year, before deciding on a major. Talk to professors, staff and students to find out which courses will interest you. You can take a course from the Faculty of Business and Economics while also taking one from Theater and Film or the Classics department. All of your first-year courses will count towards your degree!
Open House will include presentations and mini-lectures, so you can learn more about specific programs, including course options and degree requirements.
It’s also a great opportunity to see how the UWinnipeg campus is growing and changing. Visit the Richardson College for the Environment and Science Complex and check out the Chemistry department’s cool lab demonstrations, as well as state-of-the-art labs and the beautiful atrium with living trees and perfect study spaces. See the full indoor soccer field at the Axworthy Health and Recplex, the single and double dorms at McFeetors Hall student residence, and much, much more on a campus tour, which will be offered throughout the day. We will be offering both main campus tours and tours for specific areas of interest.
There are also many great prizes to be won, including the chance to win a $5,000 tuition credit just by filling out one of our VIP cards. There will be giveaways and prizes handed out all day long, so you just might be a winner!
