On Thursday April 4th, PROVICI Cosmetics and Aldo Formal Wear presented UNVEILED: baring the artistic soul. It was a successful evening of heart-helping unification.
This was not your typical fashion show. There was a live runway, with 15 stunning Panache models showing both female and male styles. Rather than seeing one great look on a model, the components were “de-constructed” — the clothing, accessories, hair and makeup were shown separately, allowing you to focus on each aspect of great style. Media celebrity, Ace Burpee guided the full house through the evening’s program with his effortless humor and charm.
UNVEILED featured the clothing design talents of Lennard Taylor, evening men’s wear by Aldo Formal Wear, women’s accessories by Paperdoll Clothing, hair by John Graham of Aevi and of course makeup by PROVICI Cosmetics. In addition to the live program, there was a full multimedia show, featuring amazing images of the fashions, hair and makeup by John Giavedoni of immagine.ca | photography.
Amongst the full house of heart helping supporters were city councilors Mike Pagtakhan and Paula Havixbeck, Manitoba Filipino Business Council Vice President, Ginno Bains, Son’s of Italy President, Tat-Liang Fabio Cheam, Miss Petite Manitoba Nisa Wijerwadena, Shaw TV’s Senior Producer, Tracy Koga and an amazing angel, St. Boniface Hospital Heart Failure Clinic’s Medical Director, Dr. Shelley Zieroth.
Boa Lounge was packed, and in addition to the dazzling show, the crowd was treated to a cardio rich dance performance by Len and Andrea of Enigma Dance Factory.
Co producers, Tia Polvorosa and Ken Lozano titled their event “UNVEILED: baring the artistic soul” for two reasons. First, their goal was to unveil style by showcasing the different components, “de-constructing fashion” if you like.
Secondly, on a personal level, our young and energetic entrepreneur, Tia, has bared her artistic soul to reveal to the public that heart disease does not just affect our senior citizens. Tia revealed that she has a serious heart disease, and that she continues her hectic schedule only because of the miracles performed at the Heart Failure Clinic of St-Boniface Hospital. This event was a fundraiser for the Heart Failure Clinic team that silently goes about performing life saving miracles day after day.
Tia and Ken thank all who volunteered, supported, donated and attended this event to help Tia give back to the Heart Failure Clinic that has saved her life, and that of countless others.
