Hey everyone! For those who have not heard of UMSigaw’s Tinig ng Pilipinas Bursary yet, this is your chance to apply! UMSigaw, University of Manitoba’s Filipino Student Group, is offering two bursaries of $250 each for students who are entering their first or second year of post secondary education. Students who are going to any college or university in Manitoba (ex. University of Winnipeg, Red River College, etc.) are eligible for this bursary, and students must be full, half, or at least part Filipino. The following is a list of things that students will need when applying for this bursary:
• Completed Application Form (Available via umsigaw.org)
• References (Information and letter)
• Transcript
• Proof of Registration (For post-secondary education)
• 2012 Tax Form
Students will also need to answer the following essay question in 250-500 words: “What is the importance of education in today’s society?” Once everything is submitted (forms, essay response, etc.), applicants will be subjected to an interview in order to determine the winner of the two bursaries.
