Kids activities, catfish tournament and main stage entertainment: Aug. 17-19, 2012
The Lockport Dam Family Festival confirms well-known Country music performers Keith and Renee, Jerry Sereda, Foster Martin Band and Jason Kirkness will be among its 10 headline acts during a fun-packed weekend happening August 17-19 in Lockport, Manitoba.
The annual event features main stage entertainment – plus loads of hands-on activities for the kids, including fishing clinics by Fish Futures (fishing equipment and licenses provided), face painting, crafts, drumming workshops, miniature train and mechanical bull rides, bouncers, and children’s performers Floyd the Clown, Mr. Mark and Lightbulb the Clown. Kids will also enjoy hands-on history lessons, story time with Rita Book of the Red River North Regional Library, and fireworks on the Saturday night.
Advance festival tickets are $10 (youth), $12 (adult) and $35 (family up to 5 people) available at Lockport area businesses. Children under five are free. Weekend passes and gate tickets are also available.
The Lockport Dam Family Festival is held at the federal park near the St. Andrews Lock & Dam. The Lockport Dam and Bridge is approximately 15 minutes from Winnipeg’s North Perimeter. Lockport is nestled between Main Street (Highway #9) and Henderson Highway (PR204) along Highway #44.
