Every Sunday between November and March, youth basketball players make their way to Gordon Bell High School with their parents in tow holding cups of hot coffee and donuts. For more than 23 years, the tradition continues for many Filipino kids as they suit up in their bright coloured uniforms, lacing up new sneakers for the opening ceremonies of the WAAY Basketball League.
WAAY Basketball kicked off the 2018-19 season with the familiar opening ceremonies, player oath and in recent years, the large, league photo!

The WAAY Board of Directors are an integral part of the league’s success and has helped the league provide continued access for Filipino youth.
