Seven Oaks Filipino Employees Association officers inducted into office

The officers of the newly formed Seven Oaks Filipino Employees Association were inducted into office at dinner-dance banquet held recently at the Players Golf Course Restaurant.

Inducted by Sam Sarbit of McJannet Rich Law Firm, the officers include Porfiria Pedrina, president; Roley Layson, vice-president; Heather Valdez, secretary; Nerissa Umali, asst. secretary; Kashmere Cleofas, treasurer; Rogelio Espino, auditor; Nowell Marzo, pro; Maximo Santiago, business manager; Nestor Ching, sgt. at arms; Alma Brigole, Carlos Martin, Maribeth Tabanera, and Ralph Abetria, board members; Cris Aglugub, Veneracion Daranciang, Nemesio Juan, and Crisanta Gomez, advisers.

Claudia Sarbit, vice-chairperson, Board of Trustees, Seven Oaks School Division, rendered greetings. She said: “But you, as employees in the Seven Oaks were not selected simply because of your ethnic background- it was because you were the best candidates for the positions. The interviewers felt you would be a valuable asset to the division.”

Special dance was performed by Heidi Presingular and Company; and followed by “Mazurka Boholana” by the S.O.F.E.A,. members led by Alma Brigole, the choreographer.Rogelio Espino rendered a nostalgic song, “Dahil Sa Iyo”. And Nowell Marzo offered a prayer.

Profinia Pedrina, Ph. D. in Education, addressed the gathering with her inspiring speech which brought out the Filipinos’ love of education, strong willed individual to face challenges, and our hardwork and perseverance, and ways and means to realize our big dreams.

Closing remark was given by Nestor Ching while Roley Leyson and Maribeth Tabanera acted as masters of ceremony. Door prizes were given and followed by public dance.
