Senator Enverga opens alumni building in honour of his father

The Honourable Tobias C. Enverga Jr., Senator from Ontario, had the honour to participate in the inauguration of the new alumni building at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation. The new building is named in honour of the Senator’s father, Dr. Tobias Y. Enverga.

“My father was a simple man who spurned flackery but was clued directly towards a true and honest Christian virtue of doing good deeds to our fellowmen,” Senator Enverga said during his acceptance speech on behalf of his family. “Besides his love for our dear Lord, the school was my father’s life. Education was his great passion. Day in and day out, the school was in his mind. Education was his urge, and his life was the University,” the Senator ended.

Later in the day, Senator Enverga addressed faculty, staff and students in a full auditorium on the topic of Global Leadership and Community Service. Using his own experience as an immigrant in Canada who rose to his current position, the Senator said: “To everyone here today, I pose you this challenge: aspire to become leaders yourselves, and actively seek out opportunities to provide a fresh perspective for others. Make a commitment to become better leaders in your community, and be an inspiration to everyone around you. Remember: global leadership starts in the community you serve.”
