Save the date! Bombers home opener on July 2nd

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will begin the 2015 season on the road when they visit Western Division rivals, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, on Saturday, June 27th.
The home opener at Investors Group Field follows a week later, on Thursday, July 2nd, when the Bombers welcome the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

In all, including the pre-season game, the Bombers will play at home on Thursday two times, four times under the lights of Friday Night Football, with four Saturday home games also on the schedule.

“The biggest change Bomber fans will see in 2015 is the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Banjo Bowl game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders played on Saturday, September 12th, said Blue Bombers President and CEO Wade Miller. “This Labour Day Classic rematch has traditionally been played on Sunday. We believe a Saturday evening game will allow our fans to have even more fun celebrating one of the best rivalries in the CFL.”

The move to Saturday means the popular Bomber Fan Appreciation Day will take place on Sunday, September 13th. Details regarding this year’s Fan Appreciation Day will be revealed in the upcoming months.

“We understand that creating the schedule is a monumental task for the League office as a result of FIFA Soccer games being played in stadiums across Canada, and the Pan Am Games in Southern Ontario this July,” said Miller.
