Sing with your feelings and emotions, our caroling will bring the best Christmas spirit to our hosts,” Frank Urbano, QPAM’s musical director gives instructions to the officers and members of the Quezon Province Association of Manitoba as they rehearse relentlessly to Christmas songs to be sang to their more than thirty host families.
For many years, the officers of members of QPAM have been visiting families to bring tidings to their homes. And with the good charitable purposes: Yearly scholarship to a qualified student in Quezon Province who will pursue a post-secondary education. At present, QPAM’s current scholar is Rocelle Ann Gando who will be graduating this coming March 2016 with a degree of Psychology at the Southern Luzon (Tagalog) State University.
“We do sponsor Rocelle for a 4-year course, to help her to obtain a higher education. And we are very happy for what she has been doing at the state university in Lucban, Quezon, and thru our caroling, we are able to sustain her financial needs to finish the course, and deep in my heart, I have to thank our advisers, officers, members and the host families for helping us raise the money for our scholarship project, it is a daunting effort, and yet we are able to meet the challenges with a smile,” said Maggie Chan-Urbano, president of QPAM.
