Al and Carina Tongcua together with Roden and Jocelyn Policarpio decided to incorporate puto bumbong in their catering business menu 3 years ago. Borrowing the family recipe from Carina’s mom, Nanay Connie, they offerred puto bumbong just for the Christmas season. Since then, their holiday celebration was never the same. They had to produce and work even through Christmas and New Year’s eves to keep up with orders.
Just for this year, few hours after Al posted their annual puto bumbong offering on Facebook, they received a crazy number of orders , expectedly reaching up to about 700 come New Year’s eve. Good thing that they have devised an efficient pick up/drop off system for their customers, ensuring that puto bumbong is served fresh and hot off their production facility at Bulldog Pizza.
Albeit another busy Christmas season in keeping pace with current at capacity orders, the Tongcua’s and Policarpio’s express their deepest gratitude to the Filipino community whom they love bringing this season’s sweet treat to.
