I am truly honoured and privileged to serve as President of the Manitoba Filipino Business Council Inc. and for all of you to be here on this special evening. This is truly a special night to recognize the achievements of the hard work put in by the individuals that have been nominated at this year’s MFBC Awards Gala. It gives me great pleasure as well for the MFBC to continue to make history. Having our marquee event tonight in this incredible facility of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights is history. The MFBC is honoured to be here to celebrate this historic evening with you all.
The MFBC continues to strive forward, gaining the credibility and recognition in our 4th year of existence. There is no secret why we have achieved this in such a short span as it all boils down to “hard work.” The hard working trait is synonymous to all immigrants who come to this great country of Canada. We as members of the MFBC and as Canadians have carried on that trait from our forefathers who took the chances of leaving their homelands to call Canada home.
Like a business, the MFBC was an idea and after further discussions, came into fruition with the purpose of helping like minded business owners and professionals. There is such a rich diversity of the many cultural groups in the Philippines hence the many Filipino regional associations that we have in our great province of Manitoba. With the growing numbers of the Filipino population, we needed a true business organization that would help develop key business and personal relationships within the membership. That is why the MFBC was formed back in 2010 and I am proud to say that our Filipino-Canadian business organization has come into the forefront as one the well respected groups in our community.
Congratulations to all the nominees, finalists and winners tonight.
Thank you to our sponsors, partners, board of directors, committees, volunteers and the membership. Without your support, none of this is possible.
I am excited for the MFBC to continue moving forward in a positive direction.Let’s continue to make history!
Yours Sincerely,
Jon Reyes
