On December 7th and 8th, 2012 Garden City Shopping Centre in Winnipeg teamed up with CKJS Radio for the “People Gotta Eat” campaign for the benefit of Winnipeg Harvest and the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
From morning until evening, CKJS announcers from different multilingual programs participated and volunteered their time, talent and donations to the great cause. People heeded the call, as they flocked to Garden City with friends and family to give whatever they can to help the needy, especially this holiday season. New and unwrapped toys were also received for the Children’s Hospital Foundation. As an added bonus, people who went to the location got a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Heart band concert at the MTS Centre in March of next year. And the winner is, Lucia Gonzalez! Congratulations!
