Pat Bigornia’s summer visit includes sumptuous Filipino cuisine at Hot Rod’s Grill

Former Winnipegger and one of the Filcanadian pioneers, Patricia Silastre Bigornia, visited her friends last summer and hosted a lunch at Hot Rod Grill. With variety of home style Filipino cuisine available at Hot Rod Grill, Pat invited her friends and former colleagues, Drs. Roland and Irene Guzman, her nephew Eddie and Estrella Silastre, and Jean Guiang Santoro, another former Winnipegger and one of the most active leaders in Winnipeg since the 70’s and moved to Oakville after her marriage.

Hot Rod Grill offered the most popular Pork BBQ, sinigang na halibut, pancit, lumpia shanghai, and ginataang hipon with winter squash and leche plan as a desert. Garlic sauteed mushroom as appetizer together with achara.

Pat’s culinary trip satisfied her longing for Filipino cuisine and everyone enjoyed the lunch spiced with stories about her stay in Winnipeg before moving to California twenty-five years ago. Pat visits Winnipeg twice a year to re-connect with her countless relatives and friends.
