“Pangako Sa’yo” to be shown in Cambodian TV network

TV giant network ABS-CBN recently sealed a deal with Cambodian Television Network (CTN) for the Khmer adaptation of the 2000 hit romance teleserye “Pangako Sa’yo.”
The show which will be shot early next year will have an all-new cast instead of the original stars Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa. The CTN adaptation also marks a special milestone for the Kapamilya network, as it is the first time a Filipino series would be remade and not just dubbed for another country.
The popular teleserye ended its two-year run in 2002 yet the series has been tapped several times to cater to an international audience. According to an ABS-CBNnews.com report, among the most notable ones was the Chinese-dubbed version of “Pangako Sa’yo” which rated second overall among local and foreign programs that aired in the country at the time.
To date a number of ABS-CBN shows have already been picked up by several countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, Turkey, Russia, and a few French provinces in the past, and have been dubbed in English, Khmer, Mandarin, Bahasa Melayu, Vietnamese, Turkish, Russian, and French.  They have also been subtitled in Bahasa Melayu and Romanian.
