Founder of 204 Neighbourhood Watch Inc., Leila has organized much needed volunteers who help make neighbourhoods safer for Winnipeg citizens.

She is a member of the group who started and continues to manage 204 Filipino Marketplace, a social media forum connecting Filipino immigrants in Manitoba and helping newcomers settle into their lives.

Her many volunteer activities include leading a weekly safety patrol, organizing search teams for missing persons, assisting stranded motorists during stormy weather, delivering basic necessities and food hampers, working with the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, assisting in shelter for First Nations communities displaced by fires, organizing community events, and volunteering as a columnist with the Manitoba Filipino Journal writing inspiring stories about issues faced by multicultural communities, specifically immigrants.

Leila was recognized by MLA Ted Marcelino in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, and received the New Corner Volunteer Award during the Pasasalamat (Gratitude) Gala organized by Culture Card Dalagita, a non-profit organization in Manitoba.
