Fresh from their performance in the Familiescenen at the Oslo Music Festival held recently, Norway-based half-Filipino brothers Daniel and Alex Ytterdahl will be soon releasing their debut album titled “Let Me In.”
More popularly known as the rap duo N-Jin and Denial, the twosome performed their song “Crazy Together” in the Familiescenen for the Senter mot Incest (SMI, or Center Against Incest), an organization working for people subjected to abuse from their own kin.
In an interview, Daniel said the quality of their music sounds Filipino because of the accent and the high speed rapping akin to the Filipinos’ way of talking fast. He added that many Filipinos are doing well in the Oslo musical scene because their Filipino parents started training them at a young age to entertain the family.
In their website, Daniel and Alex say they create funky raps with laid back soul combined with electronic music which is influenced by the 80s Minneapolis sound & funk boogie, the 90s g-funk, modern electro and down tempo.
