Focus on Filipino Music
To those who support music made by fellow Filipinos, here are some new materials that you should look forward to acquiring.
* The Mellow Dees – the U.S.-based trio of Melody del Mundo (of Sugar Hiccup, vocals, guitar), Wolf Gemora (Wolfgang, drums), and Robin Nievera (guitar) are working on their debut album; in the meantime, you may check out the first single off it–titled “Lamán.”
* Humous – Winnipeg’s very own Alternative Rock trio of Julius Eugenio (bass/vocals), Rico (guitar), and JC (drums) are launching their fifth album, titled DosMilBeinteDos, on December 3, 2022, at Raffy’s Café, on Ellice Ave.
* Dominion – Another U.S.-based band, led by Filipino Goth purveyor Doi Porras, is releasing their new single, “Believers.” The band’s origin may be traced back to the 1990s Metro Manila when Dominion was formed and became the spearheader of the local scene’s Gothic movement. After immigrating to the United States, Porras gave his band another lease on life.
* Half Life Half Death – the band of yours truly is releasing our second album early next year–titled My Half Life Dream; you may check out on their YouTube Channel its Christmas single, “Happy Night (Candy Cane Delight).” Half Life Half Death are Ramil Aznar (bass, guitar), Rupert de Jesus (guitar, vocals), Robert Ballesteros (drums, percussion), and aLfie vera mella (vocals, keyboards).
