The mother of boxing champion Manny Pacquiao received a lot of gifts from guests who trooped to her 62nd birthday bash last Sunday in General Santos City.
Dionisia Pacquiao, aka Mommy D, even had four wardrobe changes during her glittering birthday celebration.
First she donned a blue Disney Princess-inspired dress during the Mass for the blessing of the new Pacquiao Gym. Next was a brown gown a la “Rosalinda,” which she wore for a tango dance number, then changed into a bright red gown to sing Imelda Papin’s “Kung Liligaya Ka sa Piling ng Iba”.
Mommy D then danced the night away wearing a sleeveless aquamarine gown.
The Pacmom also received the gift that she personally requested from the boxing champ and his wife Jinkee, a Hermes Birkin bag costing P1-million.
Former President Joseph Estrada and wife Senator Loi Estrada in turn gifted her an orange silk scarf, also by Hermes.
Other prized gifts that she received were a red and green rosary made of Swarovski crystals, necklace, sandals, clothes, blue gown, white gold tongs, and lots of dancing shoes.
Notwithstanding the gifts galore, Mommy D revealed that her ardent wish is for her son to retire from boxing soon.
