A team of 14 dental professionals from Winnipeg, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary embarked on a 14-day mission to bring smiles to Filipinos in Caloocan, Metro Manila and Ormoc, Leyte last December.
The ANCOP (Anserwering the Cry of the Poor) Amparo Village in Caloocan was the first work site. This worksite was close to the ANCOP Village in Quezon City serviced in thier last dental mission back in 2006. The community was selected due to its very high need for dental care.
The dental mission set its sights on a second worksite in an ANCOP village in Ormoc, Leyte. Super typhoon Haiyan ravaged the island of Leyte in November 2013 causing massive destruction and thousands of fatalities.
The Kindness in Action (KIA) and ANCOP Dental Mission 2014/15 would not have been possible without the generous contributions from donors, supporters and sponsors.
