December 21, 2018 at Raffy’s Cafe- located at the corner of Ellice Ave. & Wall St., a mini concert was held to pave the way of an album launch for Miguel Mangoma. Mirror Man, which was his self-titled album, is composed of 9 original tracks about self-discovery, love and beautiful accidents.
It was supposedly just a self project for him, however with the collective effort and talents of his friends, the evening turned out to be the night to celebrate his craftsmanship. It is really true that ideas are best formed when you least expect it.
It all started with an open mic session over chicken wings and beer at Raffy’s Cafe. Janet Arcos who is also the catalyst of all this, arranged an exchange deal with the owner. Thanks to the very supportive Raffy Ramiro who allowed them to use the venue for free. One thing led to another. Bryan Mesias, with his expertise in photography and Dawn Dizon who is in layout design, along with Esa Balsomo who was one of the front acts made up a perfect team.
The venue was jam packed by family members and friends who came to support. Music of different genres, from punk rock, to ballad to acoustic were performed as the crowd enjoyed and sang along.
The albums were almost sold out, making it a successful night for everyone.
