Manitoba Filipino Business Council Embraces A New Vision

The Manitoba Filipino Business Council (MFBC) is pleased to announce their new leadership team, as elected at their recent Annual General Meeting in January. The new Board of Directors provides strong strategic guidance for carrying out the council’s mission to offer the Filipino business community with networking opportunities, resources and programs, which help business owners and professionals thrive.

Please join us in welcoming Jackie Wild to her new role as President, as well as Kat, Glorife, Jason and Joyce as new members of the Board.

Jackie Wild – President
Jackie Wild is an experienced communications professional who has managed a number of successful community-focused projects within the non-profit, private and public sectors over the last decade. Passionate about doing work that matters, she joined TELUS where she supports hundreds of local, grassroots charities creating opportunities for conversation, collaboration and shared learning.

Jackie has served as a proud advocate and voice for the province’s Filipino business community over the last eight years through her involvement with the MFBC, formerly supporting their important mandate as Vice President, Director of Public Relations and Gala Event Manager. A champion of community building, Jackie also serves as the Community Engagement Chair of the Manitoba 150 Host Committee and Board Governor with the Manitoba Museum. She was recently named one of CBC Manitoba’s Future 40 recipients and featured on the Filipino Journal’s 20 Filipinos to Watch list.

Katrina Daaca – Vice President
Katrina Daaca, SCMP is Owner and Lead Consultant at Kanekta, Canada’s first Filipina-Canadian owned supply chain management consulting company. She is also a sessional instructor in the postgraduate supply chain management program at MITT. Katrina first joined the MFBC in 2011 as the board Executive Assistant and is thrilled to return to the association as the incoming Vice President. She brings her eight years of experience in supply chain management and as a past board member for Supply Chain Canada (SCC) Manitoba Institute. She is presently a chairperson for Kultivation FAMD, a grassroots volunteer-driven group that promotes the modern cultural scene in Manitoba’s Filipino community.

Glorife Dela Cruz – Director of Finance
Professionally, Glorife Dela Cruz works alongside growing companies to create and develop strong Canadian businesses through financing and advisory services. In addition, she brings in her personal experience in compassionate ministry working alongside her local church board. She loves working with the community and it is her pleasure to share her time and talents with the MFBC and her fellow Kababayans.

Jason Abraham – Director of Public Relations and Events
Jason Abraham serves as Executive Pastor for Unida Christian Church of Canada and Owner of Jason Abraham Sign & Design, a Winnipeg-based small business that provides printing and sign services to new business start-ups, local businesses and nationally recognized corporations. As a college undergraduate from the Philippines, he started his Canadian journey in 2006 as a live-in caregiver. Years after secured employment in an office in 2009, he started Jason Abraham Sign & Design in his home basement, becoming a full-time entrepreneur in 2017.

Joyce Catenza – Director of Membership
Joyce Catenza has worked for RBC over the last 12 years, and currently serves as Manager, Credit Structures in the Private Banking division of RBC Wealth Management. Prior to that, she was a Financial Advisor at the RBC Portage/Arlington Branch and RBC Northdale Branch. She also used to work for the Filipino radio station CKJS, where she found her passion to network and socialize with many different organizations. She loves to spend her free time supporting charitable initiatives and conducting financial advice events.
