2012 Cadillac SRX AWD Premium edition
At first glance, I knew I was going to have fun driving this luxury crossover! Just one look at the hard lines of the front chrome grill, large Cadillac emblem, 20” aluminium rims and the aggressive styling of the 2012 Cadillac SRX AWD screamed fun and excitement as I picked up the SRX for my week-long road review. I couldn’t wait to hop in the driver’s seat and run through my weekly new car checklist. As with many luxury automobiles, there are features upon features and the 2012 Cadillac SRX is no different.
The list of premium equipment in this crossover is long so let’s start with the panoramic sunroof. The sunroof extends all the way to rear passenger cabin and the view is fantastic. Throw in heated and ventilated 8-way leather power seats in the front and heated seats for the rear passengers. Also included is park assist, variable power liftgate control, rear camera, pop-up navigation system, HID headlights and a lot more! The analogy clock is always a nice touch too.
Interior styling of the Cadillac SRX offers double-stitched leather and wood accents. The centre stack console is sharp and elegant with the 8” LCD pop-up navigation display. The ventilated seats are great for Manitoba summers while the heated seats are an absolute treat during our long and cold Manitoba winters. Speaking of winter, one other great feature is the heated steering wheel. Perfect for the time you forget your gloves.
Seating room in the back is comfortable as I had more than enough leg room. The heated seats in the back are a welcome bonus. Looking for cargo space? The 60-40 rear seats drop down to give you a flat cargo floor.
Under the hood, the Cadillac SRX is powered by a 3.6L V6 6-speed automatic transmission and cranks out 308hp and 265 lb-ft of torque.
The Cadillac SRX comes in seven different trim levels and starts at $42,160 and tops out with our tester model, the SRX AWD Premium package at $54,580. Our test vehicle came with the added 20” aluminum rims for an extra $1,945. Total price of our tester MSRP $56,525.
