Lilies, Lilies, Lots of Lilies!

Every year the town of Neepawa, Manitoba prepares for one of Manitoba’s most beautiful festivals – The Lily Festival.

Now on its 14th year, the three-day festival (July 23, 24 & 25) featured a colourful parade, various demonstrations on reverse glass painting, copper tooling, balloon sculpture and art, origami display, lilies workshop and many others. For the nature lovers, Neepawa offers campgrounds, golf and picnic areas. You can also find the original home of famous author Margaret Laurence that has been well-preserved and is now one of the town’s tourist attractions.

But the major attraction were undoubtedly the lilies themselves, in all colours, sizes and shades. You could get a fill of these beautiful flowers at Lily Nook, which boasts of hundreds of different varieties. Tourists from all over flock to Lily Nook to bask in the flowers’ grandeur and bring home a plant or two.
