Last December 28, the Red River Mutual Trail season kicked off with the opening of the port rink, and trail extensions soon to follow as Mother Nature allows.
The opening of the Red River Mutual Trail signals the beginning of fantastic winter programming. Over the next six weeks, the frozen river will be the place for everything from the Iron Man Curling Bonspiel, a triathlon, and winter bike trails, to events, performances and an ice bar at Pavilion Sub-Zero during Festival du Voyageur and the Winnipeg New Music Festival.
“We know the Red River Mutual Trail is a major winter highlight for many people, and we’re optimistic about extending the trail in the coming week,” says Paul Jordan, Chief Executive Officer, The Forks.
