Jessica Sanchez promotes Philippine tourism

A photo of “American Idol” Season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez holding a placard containing the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) campaign slogan “It’s More Fun In The Philippines” is now spreading online.

The photo was taken on June 8, while Jessica was waiting for President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III at the Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles for her courtesy call. According to Ren Sapitan of the DOT, the 16-year-old Filipino-Mexican posed for the photo without hesitation in support of the government’s campaign to attract tourists to visit the country.

Jessica herself has expressed interest in visiting the Philippines. Her Filipino mother, Editha Bugay hails from the province of Bataan
The opportunity may arise when Jessica and her fellow “Idol” finalists perform in Manila on Sept. 21. In November, “Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez will be also having a concert in the country in which Jessica is said to be doing the front act.

Only recently, the young singer sang the U.S. national anthem “Star-Spangled Banner” at the opening game of the NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder (OKC) and Miami Heat (MH).
