Actress Iza Calzado admitted she’s still missing her father, actor, director, and choreographer Lito Calzado who died three years ago due to liver cancer.
Iza is even sure that her late father is quietly helping her as she said she still feels his presence although he is no longer around to see how she’s getting acting opportunities and makes a steady rise in her showbiz career.
Currently the actress is doing the horror film Wenn V. Deramas’ “Maria Leonora Teresa.” However the film is not about the doll that has become as iconic as Guy and Pip in the 70s. Iza plays Faith Pardo, Zanjoe Marudo is Julio Sacdalan and Jodi Sta. Maria is Stella De Castro. The three parents mourned the deaths of their respective daughters, Maria, Leonora, and Teresa after a tragic incident during their field trip. A psychiatrist named Manolo (played by Chris Villanueva) helped them cope up with their loss by offering them life-sized dolls. The situation became tragic when the toys appear to be brought to life by an evil force.
Maria Leonora Teresa is a part of Star Cinema’s on-going 20th anniversary celebration. It opens nationwide on Sept. 17.
