Filipina classical singer Gerphil Geraldine Flores only made it to the semi-finals of the on ABS-CBN’s “Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT). However everything turned out alright for her in the end, with Asia noticing her talent via AXN’s “Asia’s Got Talent (AGT).”
The 24-year-old fifth year student from the University of the Philippines Diliman finished third in the recently concluded first season of AGT behind Mongolian musical ensemble Khusugtun and grand winner a shadow play group from Tanauan, Batangas.
Gerphil, the one and only contestant awarded by David Foster with the Golden Buzzer, said she was greatly surprised by the Golden Buzzer. She also shared that she found out Foster was one of the judges minutes before she went up the audition stage.
She also said sacred songs are part of her repertoire because she wants to reach out to people’s emotion, devotion, faith, spirituality by singing. Indeed the Philippines seems not enough for her voice and she now has the whole of Asia behind her.
