Amid intense breakup rumors and rumors that their loveteam will be going their separate ways, Gerald Anderson said he would always be there for his ka-loveteam Kim Chiu “for life”.
For several weeks now, rumors have been making the rounds that all is not well with the young pair, who were seen recently in Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo on The Filipino Channel (TFC). Now that the show has ended, the rumors that there will be a parting of ways between Kim and Gerald has intensified, making their fans—called the Kimeralds—anxious.
A number of them have sent e-mail appeals and letters to ABS-CBN management, saying that they would prefer that Kim and Gerald continue to be paired together.
So far, in the five years that Kim and Gerald have been in showbiz, both of them have had the opportunity to work with other actors. Last year, Gerald starred in Agimat opposite Erich Gonzales. Kim also did an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya opposite Matt Evans.
According to the young actor, there are plans for new projects for both of them, but they have not yet been told what these projects are and if they will star Kim and Gerald together, or separately.
“Confidential pa what those projects are, pero excited na kami pareho ni Kim,” says Gerald. “Kung magkasama kami, eh di okay. Kung hindi, we have to prepare [for that] although we have to admit, hindi ganoon kadali makipag-partner sa ibang tao. Ilang years na rin kasi na kami ni Kim lagi ang magkasama. Basta excited kami for whatever will happen.”
As for the rumors that the two of them have broken up—which came amid other rumors that Gerald was seeing ex-Pinoy Big Brother Double Up housemate Sam Pinto—he neither confirmed nor denied anything.
The last time he and Sam were together was the taping of their Your Song Presents “Isla” episode. The last time he saw and talked to her was the Bench Uncut show at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines on July 2.
They have not had any contact since then. Gerald even dared people who have proof that he and Sam have been going out to show it to him, but so far no one has come forward.
It was Gerald’s last statement that we found the most telling.
“Basta ang importante,” stressed Gerald, “okay kaming dalawa. Why should we listen to what other people say? Kung ano kami before, ‘yon pa rin kami. Close kami ni Kim sa isa’t isa. For life ‘yan. I will always be here for her.”
Gerald has just left the Philippines for his appearance at the TFC-sponsored “Fiesta Mo sa Florida” on Saturday, July 24.
