Food Evolution restaurant grand opening

Kildonan Park now has a new restaurant. At the ribbon cutting ceremony of Food Evolution, owner Doug Stephen gave accolades to Councillor Devi Sharma saying, “right from the beginning, Councillor Sharma was on the phone with me asking what we can do to keep the project moving. She has an immense devotion to Kildonan Park.”

Councillor Sharma praised Doug and his team for their dedication and vision in seeing Food Evolution come to fruition. She spoke about Kildonan Park being the second busiest park in Winnipeg and the improvements made to the pavilion, “the accessibility with the new elevator will ensure everyone can make their way to the lower level and enjoy the walk-out duck pond.” She went on to say that Food Evolution was the missing link in an already active park and she looks forward to the new memories that will be created.

The restaurant will feature a café, sit down dining, and an outdoor patio and will serve regional cuisine. The City of Winnipeg invested 2 million dollars into upgrading the pavilion to make it accessible and modern.
